ALL ONE WORLD EGYPTOLOGISTS TOUR
NORTH PALACE OF AKHENATEN
— SATURDAY 12 JANUARY 2008 — AMARNA, EGYPT — 18TH DYN. NEW KINGDOM —

Our last stop is the palace where Nefertiti is said to spent her last days.

We enjoyed wandering the many rooms and imagining what this place must have been like 3360 years ago.

It has been suggested that this building was a kind of zoological garden where the king could keep animals and birds and satisfy his love of nature. Friezes found here show spectacular paintings of birds diving among marsh plants.
